Welcome!
We operate a small commercial raw milk goat dairy and maintain
a small herd of quality, high producing Nubian dairy goats
here in beautiful Central Texas. Our families have always
enjoyed farm life and raising animals. In 1998 we began
our registered dairy goat journey. Our herd has taken a
while to increase due to what we call the "buck years"-several
years of nearly 100% male offspring! Having survived that
test of our determination, we have been blessed with some
beautiful doe kids and have also purchase quality stock.
We love our Nubians and find that their milk stays fresher
longer, has a sweeter taste due to less caproic acid than
the Swiss breeds and they handle our hot Texas weather easily
with little or no stress. Our family drinks their milk and
enjoys fresh cheeses. MILK MILK MILK is our number one focus.
Show conformation, stamina and hardiness follow. In 2001
we contracted the show bug and have been on a fast track
ever since to improve our herd for show while maintaining
and increasing our production.
All of
our animals have originated from CAE negative herds practicing
prevention and biosecurity. Before we purchased it, our
land had no stock on it for 20 years! We test yearly for
CAE through Washington State University. All doelings
are tested before being bred. Our entire herd is negative
and current test are available for public inspection upon
request. Our animals are wormed regularly, receive
coccidiosis prevention, are fed quality hay, grain and
loose minerals and are allowed to roam freely over ten
acres of our land browsing on natural forage. They receive
a lot of fresh air, sunshine and exercise! We will hold
two One Day Tests this year in March and June and will
go on DHIR in 2005. We expect many of our does will become
official 3000lb milkers . Our goal is to have, within
the next three years, does on the Top Ten Lists.
All births are attended,
navels dipped in iodine and colostrum within the first few minutes of birth.
All
kids for sale for breeding purposes will be raised on a heat treated milk
program and raised separate from the herd. Others are dam raised or raised
in meat pens. We usually have a number of milk-fed bucklings available for
meat and some kids (doelings and bucklings) available with an option for non-registration.
Check with us as we often have a few milkers available for sale as well. FFA
and 4Hers receive a discount. A fifty dollar deposit will hold the kid of
your choice with balance due within 2wks of notice of the birth of your kid.
If what you want is not available, your deposit will be returned. No refunds
on buyer cancellations. We reserve the right to retain any kid born for herd
replacement purposes (i.e. death of a dam etc.), however, we are committed
to doing our best to ensure a happy customer and this type of substitution
is a rarity. No refunds on buyer cancellations. Air shipping is available
through Dallas/Ft.Worth airport. Buyer responsible for cost of shipping, health
certificates, and crate.
